If a rank is underline it means multiple characters can have this rank. If a rank isn't underlined it means only one character can have this rank in the clan. All of these ranks apply to each clan.
Leader (30+ Moons) - The suffix of their name ends with the word "star" which indicates his/her position as a leader. Responsible for the whole clan, a great weight bears on their shoulders should they let their clan down. New clan leaders (leaders that are promoted in-character) visit the Highstones where the moonpool is to receive their nine lives. (example name: Leafstar)
Deputy (25+ Moons) - From a warrior to a deputy, the leader promotes them to this position. They're second-in-command, so if the leader's not around to hiss orders he/she is. Once the leader dies they are immediately promoted to the position as leader, ripping off their suffix name they had as a warrior to become "star."
Medicine Cat (25+ Moons) - Basically the doctor of the clan. They usually have some kind of storage where they keep medicinal plants and the like. They typically visit the moonstone either on their own or they have a medicine cat meeting which can be decided by the players.
Medicine Cat Apprentice (12+ Moons) - Basically the trainee doctor of the clan. They usually are chosen because they show interest in the vast knowledge of herbs and dedicate their time in learning and helping their clan mates. However, they tend to have no chance at becoming a warrior and thus given this rank/job.
Warriors (12-96 Moons) - The hunters, protectors, and the dutiful ones of the clan. It's their job to provide for the clan as well as train future warriors to follow their example. When a she-cat becomes pregnant she is then ranked as a queen and must spend her time in the nursery. However, once her litter is born she can decide to stay as a queen and provide for them as a mother or go back to being a warrior and have some other queen take care of them for the time being. Apprentices graduate to a warrior, their new suffix is given by the leader (however you can ask the clan's leader for a specific suffix if you wanted to). (example name: Leaftears)
Apprentices (6-12 Moons) - The warrior trainees. After becoming 6 moons they usually are promoted to an apprentice. They will then have their own mentor (warrior) who will train them the ways of being a warrior. Once they've completed their tasks (take a look at the rules) they will then be promoted to a warrior with a new suffix to replace "paw." (example name: Leafpaw)
Kits (0-6 Moons) - Newborn cats. When you create a kit however they must be 3-4 Moons old in order for them to be playable. Once your cat is 6 moons they should attend the upcoming ceremony to be promoted to an apprentice. Their suffix will be changed to "paw." (example name: Leafkit)
Queens (15-35+ Moons) - Typically former she-cat warriors (unless they're temporary queens only to give birth and get back to being a warrior) who have taken up a motherly lifestyle.
Elders (96-120 Moons) - Old cats, most retired from the rank of a warrior and queen. Some are former/old/past medicine cats and leaders that have yet to die.
