WE ALL WISH
WE ALL SING
WE ALL HOPE
FOR THINGS WE SEE
FOR THINGS WE WANT
FOR THINGS WE CAN’T HAVE
~
Placing large paws onto the damp earth, a light crunching sound meeting sensitive ears, the large feline brought themselves to their full height, a slight smirk on their furred muzzle. Shining teeth peeked from their fleshy cover within the arrogant expression, pastel green hues cautiously flickering around their surroundings with a curious intent. It was all deathly familiar for him and just that alone had a pleasurable feeling claw down his spine. Everything was how he remember, everything was going correctly it seemed. With the suns golden rays barely dragging themselves down through breaks in the thick canopy of darkened leaves above him. The small specks of light that were scattered beautifully around dried the slight dew that dampened the surrounding ferns and frayed pine needles that lay scattered in thick layers above the soft soil. Tilting his head back, he allowed the surrounding scents too clutter his senses, a soft grin spreading across his stoic face.
After standing there for countless moments, the feeling of slight warmth causing his thick pelt to tingle with heat, Cavernstar brought his head back to its original position, his now lazy gaze steadily staring off into the distance. As he stood, countless tree-lengths from the camp, at one point the large tom had stumbled back onto his thick furred haunches in midst his little world. The tom already had a sleepless night, the darkness that often haunted his dreams did nothing to withstand the countless throw of images that painted his conscious for the darkened hours and the slight, warming heat from the stray rays of sunlight on his fur and the beautiful, serene surroundings only brought exhaustion knocking at his door. A light chuckle escaped his muzzle, shoulder dipping inward as they shook. He was a fool, acting like that of a kit but the small world drew him in and before he knew it, pastel hues were glazed, attention drawn towards something that didn’t exist with that same, excited smile painted on his muzzle as he daydreamed without a care in his anxious life.
